Neurofeedback for Kids
Neurofeedback with kids is the 21st century tool for parents!
Does this sound like your child?
– having difficulty in school, especially with attention or authority figures
– unusually impulsive or emotionally volatile
– trouble keeping attention and focus on important tasks
How does neurofeedback with kids work?
Many kids who are struggling with these issues quickly find themselves diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). This despite the fact that they may only fit a subset of the diagnostic criteria. These diagnoses can leave them with lifelong stigma (see Dr. Jaffe’s TEDX talk on the subject here), addictive medications and weekly therapy visits. But it doesn’t have to be this way!
Would you like to improve your child’s behavior and mental faculties? Do you hate the prospect of using drugs, especially given the low efficacy rates of those treatments? Neurofeedback with kids offers a non-drug, non-invasive method that trains the brain to function more efficiently and more smoothly. We help the brain do more of what it needs to do (like increase frontal lobe function) and less of what it shouldn’t (decreasing anxious or hyperactive states). Like a brain gym, repeated sessions at the Alternatives Brain Institute can leave your child with reductions in symptoms without medication. And the best part is that neurofeedback with kids typically provides long-term, if not permanent, changes. This means that your child keeps many of the benefits even months and years after the neurofeedback training!
Does your child or relative have special needs?
We have expertise with using neurofeedback techniques with functionally impaired children. We have improved sleep and mood disorders in kids and resolved ADHD for many of our younger clients. More importantly, we’ve improved life-functioning in nearly everyone who comes the the Brain Institute. We know that we can make your child’s life better while also reducing the stress you experience having to deal with these difficult issues.
